Kentucky Licensed Boiler Repair in Louisville

Did you know? ... Not every HVAC company is licensed by the state to repair and replace boilers. It's true, only a few licensed boiler contractors will work on residential boilers. A boiler license is required by the state to pull permits, repair large sections of line, and install new boilers.

Do you heat your home with radiators? If so, they are connected to a boiler in the home. Radiant Heat is a great source of comfortable heat commonly found in older Kentucky homes. Radiant heat is not as dry as gas furnace heat, and if maintained properly, can outlast traditional furnaces.

Our Boiler maintenance plan will ensure your system is clean and operating as efficiently as possible. Removing and cleaning burners, plus testing and calibrating gas pressure, are just a couple of the processes involved in boiler maintenance.

As a boiler system maintenance plan member, you will have priority scheduling along with a discount on parts. With our maintenance plan, members never pay a service fee! YES.. you read that right! They never pay a service fee! Boilers are special.

How is a Boiler (for Radiator Systems) Different from a Water Heater?

If you have an older Louisville home with radiators that provide space heating, you have a boiler system. The boiler may look like a large water heater. How are they different?

A boiler delivers hot water through a closed-loop system that runs steam through radiators (for space heating) which returns to the boiler as hot water.

A hot water tank just heats and delivers water through hot water faucets (as water, not steam).

More specifically, a boiler is a water heating device that exceeds the following:

  • 120 gallons water storage

  • 160 psi operating pressure

  • 210 degrees F. temperature

  • 199,000 Btu/hr. heat input

Boiler systems (for space heating) generally have more water, pressure and heat, compared to hot water tanks, to push steam through the radiators. Therefore they require special licensing, as held by Ur Best HVAC: Lic. #KY2499
